Speech to Text Converter
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Speech to Text converter free?
Yes, completely free. No signup, no account, no subscription. Use it as many times as you want at no cost.
What languages are supported?
The tool supports English (US, UK, India), Hindi, Tamil, Telugu, Bengali, Marathi, Gujarati, and many more languages. Select your language from the dropdown before speaking.
Is my audio recorded or stored?
No. The tool uses your browser's built-in Web Speech API which processes audio locally or through your browser's private speech engine. TinyTools never receives, stores, or transmits your audio.
Which browsers support the Speech to Text tool?
The tool works best on Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, which have full Web Speech API support. Safari on iOS also supports it. Firefox has limited support and will show a compatibility notice.
Can I edit the transcribed text?
Yes. After speaking, the transcribed text appears in an editable text area. You can correct mistakes, add formatting, or append more text before copying it.
What is the maximum recording length?
There is no hard time limit set by TinyTools. The Web Speech API may pause after a period of silence — simply click the microphone again to continue. For long dictation sessions, click Stop and Start again periodically.
