Image Compressor
Frequently Asked Questions
Is the Image Compressor free to use?
Yes, completely free. No signup, no account, no watermark. Compress unlimited images at no cost.
Does TinyTools store my uploaded images?
No. Your images are processed on our server and immediately discarded. Nothing is ever saved or shared.
What image formats are supported?
The tool supports JPG, JPEG, PNG, and WEBP formats. Maximum file size is 10MB.
What is the difference between quality compression and target KB compression?
Quality compression lets you choose a quality percentage (10–100%). Target KB compression automatically adjusts quality until the output file is at or below your specified size in kilobytes.
Will compressing an image reduce its dimensions?
No. This tool only reduces file size by adjusting image quality and encoding. The pixel dimensions (width x height) remain unchanged unless you use our Resize by Dimensions tool.
What quality setting should I use for web images?
For web use, 70-80% quality is the sweet spot — visually indistinguishable from the original but typically 50-70% smaller in file size. For print, use 90%+.
